I have a lot of conversations with people that I find tedious, because as soon as I approach any personal topics, they take a hard left back into small talk. I work in customer service and I love what I do, but at the end of the day I want to have conversations that mean something. I have a hard time with ‘fine.’ I use it way too often.

Thank you for this post! it comes to me in a moment when Im thinking again about selfcare, the importance of being aware of others and share.
Brilliant.
I agree wholeheartedly!
A friend once told me that fine stands for ‘Fucked up, Insecure, Neurotic, and Evasive’. Every time we told each other we were ‘fine’ we knew what it really meant.
Fall back on the old George Carlin response: “I’m not unwell, thank you.”
I can so relate!
Pow! to the face of the issue.
I know I’m not fine, but I also don’t want to talk about it… And a lot of people take it the wrong way if you’re just honest… ugh… people. xD
